Getting ready for school

If you are like me and my children by the time the last week of June roles around we are already to go back to school. ( In thoughts only).
But now is the best time to start to prepare. Here are some wonderful ideas of how to make going back less stressful for you and your kids:
1. Make sure work area for studying is organized and in good working order.

2. If you haven't already done this; start a Back to School Box, this is a box that has all the extra paper, pens and other school supplies you have. Make an inventory of what you have and what you know you are going to need.

3. Review items on your children's IEP or 504 plan and make sure you agree with everything on the contract if you do great you are that much more ahead, If not now is a perfect time to make notes on changes that are needed.

4. For all college students: Now is a great time to review your grades contact your colleges financial aid department. Who knows you may be able to get a scholarship.

This is a wonderful starting list
If you have any comments or suggestions

FIND AN OUTLET

With really anything in life you need to find an outlet for you to relax.
ADHD people can be very creative people, you need to find something that you enjoy
that will keep your brain and your hand happy some good suggestions are:
Write a story
Write a poem
Take up hand sewing
Draw, Paint a picture
Take up photography
Take a walk
Just too name a few things...
Sometimes I just enjoy writing random poems.
I enjoy working with the "color of words" and the sounds with them.
I also enjoy working with clay and other craft material.

Sometimes Home Depot or Lowell's offer classes on how to make things.

SO FEED THE CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN!

JUST FOR FUN

TIMELESS
Timeless wishes full of love.
Timeless kisses from up above,
In the days you’re whole live through,
Timeless treasure belongs to you!
-Janeen Bryan

A Piece…..
Took a piece of sunshine and cut it like a pie
Took a piece of sunshine and wrapped it up with twine
Took a piece of sunshine and added in some glue
I think my little sunshine looks an awful lot like you! J

A little giggle….
Some can laugh and some can cry.
Stay forever and never die.
Love you always as they should.
Read a book that’s always good!
Write a list that’s half way done.
Go for a drive, which can be fun!
Cook a lobster, but it may run! J
Have a giggle when times get tough
Hug a little when things are rough.
But one thing is very true.
Someone always will love you!!

HELLO CRAZY TUESDAY....

Hello On this Crazy Tuesday!  Today in Utah I think mother nature had ADHD and Bypolar Disorder because we had rain in the morning and SNOW in the afternoon and now at 5:00pm we have sun shine and a small breeze. OMG!

Anyway today has been a good day so far.  Day 2 of getting back on my medication.  Do any of you ever fall off the wagon and stop taking your medication?  Well I figured out the hard way that you do not sleep as good if you do that. I was reading on line the other day that A.D.H.D medication is not only for the day but also for the night as well, *I know, NO DUH* but you know we only learn by doing things, or in this case not doing things to see what works and what doesn't.

Teresa, would like some strategies to help her family with coping with A.D.H.D. I will be looking into this in the days to come.  Things are crazy at our house this week.

HUGS TO ALL! :)

HELLO TO ALL MY NEW FREINDS

I am writing this blog hopefully to help and inspire others in there daily lives.
One thing I have learned since being diagnosed with Adult ADHD is that I can accomplish my dreams but it is just going to take me a little longer.

I have a special place in my heart for people who also live with this on a daily basis.
I have quite a few tools for the trade that I have learned along the way that has helped me.  In the days and weeks to come I am going to focus on each topic and Idea that I have.

I would love to hear from you, please tell me your accomplishments and challenges with ANY learning disorder.   What would you like to learn from me?
Is there anything that I can personally help you with?
Just let me know and I will try to help as much as I can!

HUGS TO ALL!!!!
Looking forward to our journey
